Yigal Rosen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the education and technology sectors. Yigal has held various leadership roles at different organizations throughout their career.
Yigal started their current position in 2020 as the Chief Academic Officer at BrainPOP. In this role, they lead research and development to ensure that BrainPOP products promote learning outcomes and academic gains. Yigal is also involved in the development of global creative thinking assessments for the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 at ACT and a Super Skills Lab research project at the LEGO Foundation.
Before joining BrainPOP, Yigal served as the Senior Vice President of AI & Data Science at BrainPOP from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they led the design and development of assessments, AI/ML capabilities, and data science capabilities aimed at supporting personalized learning and holistic student development.
Yigal has also worked as a Consultant at The LEGO Foundation since 2021, contributing to their projects and initiatives.
Prior to that, Yigal was a Project Director and Consultant at ACT, where they were involved in the research and development of various educational assessment projects, including PISA 2022 and the U.S. National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Science. Yigal also held a Senior Director role at ACT's Learning Division and ACTNext research & development unit.
In addition to their industry experience, Yigal held research positions at Harvard University as a Researcher and Managing Senior Research Scientist. During their time at Harvard, they led the Vice Provost of Advances in Learning Research and Development Group, focusing on transforming digital learning in higher education through adaptive learning, data analytics, and innovative assessments.
Yigal also worked at Pearson as a Senior Research Scientist, leading research and development efforts for learning and assessment technologies in large-scale programs.
Earlier in their career, Yigal worked at Technoda Science & Technology Education Center as the Head of Science Curriculum & Efficacy. Yigal assessed the effects of Technoda programs on students' knowledge and skills.
Yigal also held positions at Time To Know as the Head of Assessment & Efficacy and at various universities, including the University of Haifa, Ben Gurion University, and The Open University of Israel, where they conducted research and taught courses related to education and technology.

Yigal Rosen has a strong education background in the field of education assessment and policy. Yigal completed a post-doctoral program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2007-2008, focusing on educational assessment. Prior to that, they pursued another post-doctoral program at Tel Aviv University from 2006 to 2007, specializing in educational policy and assessment. Yigal earned their PhD in Learning Sciences and Measurement from the University of Haifa between 2004 and 2006. Yigal also holds a Master of Arts degree in Learning Technologies (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Haifa, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.
