Kait Mitchell has extensive work experience, beginning in 2010 when they worked as an Editorial Intern for Island Press. Kait then worked as an Assistant Editor for Ball Bearings Online in 2010 and a Feature Writer and Graphic Designer for USA Field Hockey in 2011. Later that year, they were hired as a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator for GiftWorks. In 2011, they were hired as a Communications Intern and then a Communications Manager for USA Field Hockey. In 2012, they were hired as an Editor for Key Communications, Inc. In 2017, they became an SEO and Marketing Strategist for Oswego Marketing Agency. In 2019, they were hired as a Search Marketing Manager for tSunela. In 2020, they were hired as a Soldier and Family Readiness Liaison for the US Army. In 2022, they became an Assistant Project Manager and Implementation Specialist for Brandfolder.

Kait Mitchell obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a Digital Media Minor from Ball State University between 2007 and 2011. In December 2020, they obtained HIPAA and Privacy Act Training from the Defense Health Agency.
