Christopher Smithmyer has been working in international affairs for Brāv since May of 2017. Prior to that, they held a number of positions in academia and finance. Christopher was an adjunct professor at Penn State University from December 2014 to May 2017, teaching sociology and English courses. From 2009 to 2014, Christopher served as the CFO for APCN. In this role, they worked to ensure that the fiscal framework of the multinational met the needs of the companies mission.
Christopher has also been involved in politics, running for State Senate in 2012 on a platform of inclusion and small government. Although they were not elected, Christopher felt that being a moderate was the best way to protect the constitution of the United States.
Before their work in international affairs, Christopher was also an adjunct professor of business and criminal justice at Everest University from 2006 to 2008. In this role, they taught courses on business and criminal justice to undergraduate students.
Christopher Smithmyer is a well-rounded individual with a wealth of experience in both academia and finance. Their work in international affairs is informed by their previous work in finance as well as their teaching experience. Christopher Smithmyer has a Master of Laws from The University of Queensland in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law. Christopher also has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Penn State University, a Ph.D in Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, and an MBA in International Business from Florida Metropolitan University. In addition, they have a J.D. from Florida School of Law and an M.A. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Christopher also has certification from Seven Swords Institute in Strategic Business Facilitation, as well as certification from the State of Florida in State Appelate Court Mediation, County Court Mediation, and State Civil Circuit Mediation.
