Tom Dean

Research Scientist, Contrails at Breakthrough Energy

Tom is a Research Scientist on the Breakthrough Energy Contrails team. His role includes the modeling of contrail-cirrus formation and evolution, model validation, and general software development.

Prior to joining the Contrails team, Tom worked as an engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, within their Defense and National Security accounts. Tom previously served as an officer in the US Army, and spent most of his military career at Ft. Meade, MD.

He obtained both an MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
