Steve Mahedy

Stephen Mahedy is an Operating Senior Partner on Capital Markets. Previously, he was the Co-Head of Credit at Bregal Sagemount. Prior to joining Bregal Sagemount, Steve was a Partner and Managing Director with Providence Equity Partners (PEP) Credit Fund, Benefit Street Partners. At Benefit Street, he focused on financings in the software, technology, internet, media, and technology-enabled service sectors. Prior to joining PEP, Steve established the high-yield and distressed business at MF Global. Previously, he served as a Managing Director in the technology, media and communication services group and sector Head of Global Technology Research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. As an equity sell-side research analyst at Citigroup covering internet infrastructure and software, Steve received numerous Institutional Investor citations, including a top ranking in internet infrastructure (Ranked #1 by funds with assets of >$75 billion and ranked #1 by Greenwich Associates, Most Trusted Analyst). He has over 20 years of experience originating, structuring, and managing private debt, venture debt, private equity, and public equity transactions, totaling more than $50 billion. Steve received a BS in Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MS in Engineering from Columbia University.
