Dr. Lenora Hammonds

Dr. Lenora Hammonds is a Full Professor and Department Chair at North Carolina Central University. Dr. Lenora is also the Director of Graduate Programs/Jazz Studies in the Department of Music. Dr. Hammonds is the Director/Founder of the NCCU Teaching Artist Certificate Program. Additionally, Dr. Lenora serves as the Director of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, as well as holding various positions at other institutions such as Brevard Music Center and The Juilliard School. With extensive experience in music education and performance, Dr. Hammonds has a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Music Education from Boston University, a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from East Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring/Voice from Berklee College of Music.
