Katie Pettey Phr, Shrm-Scp

Katie Pettey, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR has extensive work experience spanning over several years. Katie held the position of Director of Human Resources at Bridge House Health since 2017. In this role, they were responsible for managing the human resources function in a residential program for adults struggling with mental health illness or substance abuse issues. Prior to that, Katie worked at Type A, Inc. from 2005 to 2017, where they served as a Transcriptionist/Proofreader/Editor. Katie was responsible for typing, proofreading, and editing psychological evaluations. Additionally, Katie served as a Membership CRM Coordinator at Visit Salt Lake, The Convention & Visitors Bureau from 2013 to 2016. In this role, they provided support and training to member organizations and facilitated networking events. Before that, they worked as a Human Resources Assistant at Cornerstone Research & Development in 2012. Finally, Katie served as the Director of Tourism at Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau from 1996 to 2005. In this position, they were responsible for sales and promotion of Salt Lake to various tour markets.

Katie Pettey, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with a focus on Travel & Tourism from Brigham Young University. Katie attended the university from 1992 to 1996. In addition to their academic achievements, Katie has obtained several certifications in the field of Human Resources. In February 2020, they earned the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Furthermore, in June 2022, they obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Additionally, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) certification from HRCI in August 2022.
