Bridger Aerospace is an aerial firefighting company based in Belgrade, Montana, located at the Bozeman Yellowstone Airport (KBZN). It was founded in 2014 to support front-line firefighters with world-leading technology and aerial fire suppression systems. About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Aviation Technical and Proposal Writer to join our Team. This position is critical in developing comprehensive technical documentation and compelling proposals that effectively communicate our capabilities and value propositions to clients, partners, and stakeholders. In this role you will develop proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective clients. You’ll collaborate and coordinate with internal contributors and subject matter experts to ensure content is complete, accurate, and maximizes business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation and/or technical writing, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and persuasive content.

Reports to: VP**,** Business Operations   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Writing: Develop and maintain technical documents, including user manuals, maintenance guides, standard operating procedures, and system specifications, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

  • Proposal Development: Create high-quality proposals for government and commercial contracts, including responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and requests for quotes (RFQs), by collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information.

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to inform proposal strategies and ensure alignment with company objectives.

  • Content Management: Organize and manage a repository of technical documents and proposal materials for easy access and reuse, ensuring consistency and compliance with company standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, business development, marketing, and project management teams to gather input and ensure technical accuracy and alignment with client requirements.

  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit documents for grammar, style, and consistency, maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.

  • Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed to provide technical expertise and support the business development team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an aviation or technical related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in technical writing and proposal development. Aviation or aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aviation terminology, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to effectively gather and synthesize information.
  • Experience with government contracting and knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to consistently exercise good judgment and risk management
