Murat Bakan

Murat Bakan currently serves as a Manager at Bridgestone Americas since February 2024, bringing extensive experience from Schaeffler, where from April 2014 to February 2024, Murat led the Chemical Technology team, supporting e-mobility efforts and innovating production processes, resulting in significant cost reductions. With a background in wet friction material development, involvement in numerous research collaborations, and contributions to the Battery Cell Development Department, Murat has consistently delivered impactful results. Earlier experiences include positions as Senior Development Engineer and Development Engineer at Schaeffler, along with a Graduate Research Assistant role at The University of Akron, culminating in a PhD in Polymer Engineering. Murat's research includes advanced polymer synthesis and tribological studies, showcasing a strong foundation in materials science and engineering.
