Laurie Brants has a diverse work history that spans several industries. Laurie began their career as a Software Engineer Recruiter at EDS Group from 1989 to 1991. From there, they transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, working as a Sales Representative and later a District Sales Manager at The Upjohn Company from 1991 to 1995, and then as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative at MMD, Inc from 1995 to 1997. Afterward, Laurie joined PDI, Inc as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, where they excelled in sales and territory management. Laurie was promoted to District Sales Manager in 1999, and then to Regional Recruiting Manager in 2001, where they managed recruitment operations for the Southeast Region. In 2006, Laurie founded their own real estate company called Brants Realtors, Inc, where they worked as the Owner and Realtor until 2015. During this time, they were responsible for managing and selling real estate properties. In 2015, they negotiated the sale of Brants Realtors to Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty, where they became the Director of Sales. In this role, Laurie led a team of 90 agents, managed over $400 million in real estate sales, and implemented the company's vision and direction as it grew to over 400 agents. Laurie then transitioned to the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development, where they continued to list and sell properties in the Fort Worth area.

Laurie Brants completed their education at Texas Christian University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from 1982 to 1986. Laurie further pursued their studies at the same institution, obtaining a Master's Degree in MS Mass Communication/Media Studies from 1987 to 1989.
