Senior Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer at Bright Machines

Maor Leibovich Gurski has extensive work experience in the field of computer vision and image processing algorithms. Maor started their career as an Assistant Lecturer at HIT - Holon Institute of Technology, where they taught Bachelor Degree Courses in Electronic Engineering from March 2015 to November 2017.

Following that, they joined ARO, Volcani Center as an Image Processing Algorithm Developer from January 2016 to November 2017. In this role, they contributed to research in Precision Livestock Farming and developed algorithmic features using MATLAB, Raspberry Pi, and C++.

From November 2017 to March 2019, Maor worked at IonTerra / Hi-Park as an Algorithm Developer. Here, they focused on developing image processing and computer vision algorithms for object detection on autonomous vehicles. Maor was involved in all development steps, from algorithm design to C++ code implementation with an object-oriented programming approach.

Currently, Maor is employed at Bright Machines as a Senior Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer since April 2019. Prior to this role, they held the position of Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer from April 2019 to April 2022.

Maor Leibovich Gurski's education history includes a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Holon Institute of Technology. Maor studied control systems, DSP, microcontrollers, and machine learning during their time there from 2011 to 2015.

Prior to that, Maor obtained a Practical Engineer degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Technical College Ordnance Corps. Maor attended this institution from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Maor has acquired several certifications. These include "Fundamentals of Accelerated Computing with CUDA Python" and "Getting Started with AI on Jetson Nano" from NVIDIA in April 2023. Maor also completed the "Machine Learning Specialization" from DeepLearning.AI in October 2022.

Furthermore, Maor holds certifications in "COMPUTER VISION 1: INTRODUCTION" from OpenCV in January 2020, "[PCEP-30-01] PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer" from OpenEDG Python Institute in August 2019, "Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python" from MITx on edX in July 2019, "Python 3 Programming Specialization" from the University of Michigan in May 2019, and "Fundamentals of Digital Image and Video Processing" from Northwestern University in April 2019.
