Ashley Carter has a diverse work experience background. Ashley started their career at the International Center of Syracuse as an intern from March 2013 to May 2014. In 2014, they worked as a research consultant for the Town of DeWitt, NY and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University from September to December.

In 2015, Ashley held multiple positions. Ashley worked as a research consultant for the Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service, SU Literacy Corps from January to May. Additionally, they served as a research consultant for Child Care Solutions (CCS) / Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse (ACTS), where they co-authored an analytical report and prepared data for a needs assessment related to community poverty levels in Onondaga and Cayuga counties. Ashley also joined Digitech Computer, Inc. as a Claims Resolution Specialist from October 2015 to May 2018.

In 2018, Ashley joined Bright Power, Inc. as a Data Systems Specialist and Data Platform Lead, a position they held until March 2021. Ashley then transitioned to the role of Manager of Data Operations.
