Gil Marques

Gil Marques has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Gil started as a Quality Engineer at Lockheed Martin in 2005 and later became an Operations Engineer and Industrial Engineering Lead/Manager. In 2011, they worked as an Operational Excellence Project Manager at Parkland Hospital. In 2012, they joined Cook Children's Health Care System as a Director of Performance Improvement. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at HMS, initially as a VP of Quality & Business Optimization and later as the SVP of Enterprise Operations. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operations Officer at Bright Health starting in 2021.

Gil Marques has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, a Graduate Certificate in Operations Leadership & Organizational Management from Drexel University, and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering Management from The University of Texas at Arlington.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Gil Marques has obtained several certifications related to Lean Six Sigma. Gil is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, which they obtained from Villanova University in July 2012. Gil also holds the certification of Lean Six Sigma Lead Instructor, which they received from Lockheed Martin in October 2009. Gil Marques has been awarded the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification in June 2008 and the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification in April 2007, both from Lockheed Martin. Furthermore, they hold a Quality Improvement Associate certification obtained from ASQ in September 2006.
