Luma Melo

Luma Melo, PhD, is a seasoned scientist currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Brightseed since March 2022, with a progressive career in translational and clinical research, including roles as Scientist II and Scientist at the same company. Luma also holds an adjunct professor position at Ball State University since January 2021, previously contributed as a board member for Allies for Health + Wellbeing, and worked at UPMC as an Associate Researcher and Postdoctoral Associate. Luma's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Health and Toxicology from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Business Administration in Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Development from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, along with other advanced degrees in Medicine and Science Philosophy, Biophysics, and a Bachelor's in Physics from the University of São Paulo.
