John Gurak

John Gurak is a Senior Scientist at Bristol Myers Squibb since July 2019, with prior experience as an NSF Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute from June 2015 to July 2019, focusing on olefin hydrofunctionalization and catalysis under the mentorship of Dr. Keary Mark Engle. John gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at The University of Texas at Arlington from December 2011 to May 2015, participating in the EPA GRO Fellowship and the Honors College Undergraduate Research Assistantship. Additionally, John worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Environmental Protection Agency in summer 2014, contributing to studies on marsh crabs and their impact on salt marshes under the guidance of Dr. Cathleen Wigand. John holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Scripps Research and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Arlington.
