Sonu Kumar

Sonu Kumar is a Senior Scientist and Protein Engineer at Bristol Myers Squibb since February 2021, focusing on biotherapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. Prior to this role, Sonu served as a Staff Scientist at Scripps Research from January 2016 to February 2021, where research centered on antibody-mediated neutralization of enveloped infectious viruses using x-ray crystallography under the leadership of Dr. Ian A. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral position at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute from January 2013 to January 2016, and a PhD studentship at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center from September 2009 to December 2012. Sonu began an academic career as a Junior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from September 2008 to August 2009. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computational Biology from Heidelberg University (2009-2012) and an MSc in Bioinformatics from Jamia Millia Islamia (2006-2008).
