Maria Chart

Maria Chart is a Smart Buildings Engineer at WSP in the UK since September 2021, having previously held the position of Graduate Smart Engineer. Maria is also an accomplished athlete, serving as a Team GB Sabre Athlete for British Fencing since January 2012, where notable achievements include being the 2023 and 2024 British Women's Sabre Champion and competing at multiple Senior European and World Championships. Prior to WSP, relevant experience includes roles as a Distinguished Bartender with Columbia Bartending Agency, a Mechanical Engineer at AKF Group, and a Plumbing Engineer at Arup. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia Engineering, complemented by leadership experience as Captain of the Columbia University Fencing Team. Additionally, Maria has engaged in humanitarian efforts as the Travel Team Technical Lead for Columbia University Engineers Without Borders, implementing solar microgrid systems in Uganda.
