Ekbal Hussain is a Remote Sensing Geoscientist at the British Geological Survey, specializing in the Shallow Geohazards and Earth Observation within the Multi-Hazards and Resilience challenge area since January 2018. Previously, Ekbal served as Topic Lead for Multi-hazard Systems and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Leeds, focusing on earthquake hazard, risk, and resilience in Santiago, Chile. From October 2012 to October 2016, Ekbal worked as a Research Scientist at the University of Leeds, completing a PhD on strain accumulation along the North Anatolian Fault. Additional experiences include managing social media outreach for Climate and Geohazard Services, co-presenting a student radio show, and working as a Research Assistant at the Department of Earth Sciences, Cambridge University. Ekbal holds a PhD in Geophysics and Satellite Geodesy from the University of Leeds, an MSci in Geological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in Natural Sciences from the same institution.
