Neil Saunders

Neil Saunders has an extensive work experience in the football industry. Neil currently works at The Premier League as the Director of Football, a role they started in August 2021. Before this, they held various positions at The Premier League, including Head of Youth from August 2016 to September 2021, Youth Department Manager in 2015, Youth Planning and Projects Manager in 2014, and Academy Programme Manager from July 2010 to August 2014.

Apart from their work at The Premier League, Neil has also been involved in the British Triathlon Federation as an Independent Non-Executive Director (Duty of Care) since July 2019.

Prior to their administrative roles, Neil Saunders had a career as a professional football player. Neil played for Exeter City Football Club from July 2007 to June 2010 and Watford Football Club from July 1999 to June 2003.

Neil Saunders attended the University of Bath from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a degree in Sports Development & Coach Education in the field of Social Sciences. Neil then went on to attend Coventry University (London Campus) from 2010 to 2011, where they obtained a PGC in Sports Law, focusing on the field of Law.
