Mattijs Bulcaen

Mattijs Bulcaen is a prominent researcher currently serving as a Postdoctoral Affiliate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University since February 2025. Previously, Mattijs held a FWO-SB Fellowship from Research Foundation Flanders, focusing on gene editing for drug-refractory mutations in Cystic Fibrosis during doctoral research at the Laboratory for Molecular Virology and Gene Therapy, KU Leuven. Mattijs has also gained international experience as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and as a Visiting Researcher at Université Paris Cité. With accolades from the 2019 SensUs competition as Team Leader for Synosense, Mattijs's educational background includes multiple degrees from KU Leuven and participation in advanced research at Stanford University.
