Associate Computational Biologist at Broad Institute

Sophie Webster is an Associate Computational Biologist II at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, focusing on developing statistical methods for analyzing the role of genomic features in double-strand DNA break repair since July 2022. Previously, Sophie served as a CS 171 Teaching Fellow at Harvard University, where responsibilities included hosting office hours and supporting data visualization and web design courses. Notably, a DEVELOP Intern at NASA, Sophie analyzed satellite imagery for flood and landslide susceptibility, co-authored a technical paper, and presented findings at a national conference. Additional experience includes roles as Assistant Music Director and President of The Radcliffe Pitches, Academic Tutor at Harvard Student Agencies, and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital, where Sophie contributed to gene expression analysis and co-authored a publication.
