Shah Ali Ahmed has a diverse range of work experience in the medical field. Shah Ali started their career in 2012 as a House Officer at Jinnah postgraduate medical Center (JPMC) and later moved to the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), where they worked as a House Officer. In 2014, they became a Pediatric Resident at LIAQUAT NATIONAL HOSPITAL & MEDIACAL COLLEGE before joining Aga Khan University in 2015 as a Pediatric Resident. After completing their residency, Shah worked at ChildLife Foundation as a Consultant Pediatric Emergency & Patient Safety Lead. In 2020, they joined King Saud University as an Assistant Consultant Pediatric Emergency. Currently, Shah is serving at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center as a Pediatric Resident and is also the Chief Resident since 2023.

Shah Ali Ahmed's education history includes obtaining an FCPS degree in Pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan from 2014 to 2018. In addition, they received postgraduate training in Pediatrics and Child Health from Aga Khan University from 2015 to 2017. Shah Ali also completed a Child Health Research module from Aga Khan University in 2015-2016. Furthermore, Shah Ali Ahmed pursued a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Course from Dow University of Health Sciences in 2018-2019, specializing in Pediatric Emergency. Shah Ali further enhanced their knowledge in Pediatric acute and critical care by completing the Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support program from the Society of Critical Care Medicine in 2018. Lastly, in 2020, Shah Ali Ahmed completed the Basic Emergency Care Course - Training of Trainers from the Global Emergency Medicine Academy, focusing on Emergency Medicine.
