Andrea King has a diverse work experience that includes roles in education, healthcare, and research. Andrea began their career as a Lead Mental Health Research Intern, where they researched the intersection of xenophobia and mental health issues affecting refugee women. Andrea then worked as a Behavioral Neuroscience Teaching Assistant, providing mentorship and support to students. Andrea also served as a Research Assistant, collecting and analyzing data in a longitudinal study. Andrea has experience in the healthcare field as a Medical Case Management Intern, where they worked with HIV positive patients to ensure their healthcare coverage. Andrea also worked as an Americorps Member at City Year, bridging the gap in high-poverty communities to increase graduation rates. Most recently, Andrea has been working at Brooke Charter Schools, first as an Associate Teacher and currently as the Director of Talent Recruitment.
Andrea King completed their education at two different institutions. From 2013 to 2017, they attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Southern California from 2018 to 2021 and obtained a Master of Arts in Urban Education, focusing on Education.
