Janine Mehlinger

Janine Mehlinger is the interim Prime Contract Manager for the Business Services Directorate at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Janine has over 17 years of experience in controllership, financial analysis, and auditing.

Janine began their career as a controller for Excel Technology, Inc. in February 2003. In this role, they were responsible for preparing and consolidating information necessary for SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K. Janine also analyzed monthly financial reporting packages from 15 divisions worldwide and provided corrective actions to divisions by conversing with Presidents and or Division Controllers. In addition, Janine implemented SOX with no material weaknesses for “initial filer” with 15 divisions worldwide. This is comprised of scoping and the setup and maintenance of all SOX documentation – narratives, risk/control matrices, test plans, remediation and deficiency logs for all processes material to the preparation of the financial statements. Janine also continually monitored testing.

In their role as Controller, Janine was able to streamline and develop Reporting Package while reducing the reporting/filing time to 2 days after month end, without compromising integrity of financial statements. Janine also focused on cash management by negotiations and pre-payment of administrative items without incurring any debt. In addition, they were able to optimize AAA Investments, taking Company from $220K to more than $1M of investment interest by comparison of best opportunities.
