Nicole Ntungire

Assistant Director, Africa Growth Initiative (agi) at Brookings

Nicole Ntungire has a diverse work experience. Nicole is currently serving as the Assistant Director for the Africa Growth Initiative (AGI) at The Brookings Institution since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a National Economist and Advisor on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at UNDP from October 2020 to April 2021. From October 2016 to September 2020, Nicole worked as a Country Economist at the International Growth Centre (IGC), where they provided policy advice based on research to promote sustainable growth in developing countries. Before that, they worked as an Economist at the Bank of Uganda from April 2010 to September 2016. In 2014, Nicole also gained experience as a Summer Analyst at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) / World Bank, where they were part of the Doing Business Project.

Nicole Ntungire pursued their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree at Columbia University from 2013 to 2014. During their time at Columbia, they specialized in the Program in Economic Policy Management (PEPM). Before that, Nicole completed their Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Economics from the University of Cape Town from 2008 to 2009. However, there is no specific information about their field of study at the University of Cape Town.
