Senior Director Health Sciences Simulation Center at Broward College

Lilia Chavarria, Ed.D, RT (R)(CT)(MR), CHSE has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and education fields. Lilia currently serves as the Senior Director of the Health Sciences Simulation Center at Broward College, where they manage the center's budget, contracts, and advisory committees. Lilia also oversees the integration of case scenarios into simulation activities for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Prior to this role, they also served as the Medical Imaging Program Director/Tenured Faculty at Broward College, where they managed student clinical experiences and led classes in the Radiography program. Lilia was responsible for collecting data, coordinating with hospitals, and securing national accreditation for the Radiography program. Additionally, they have served in various roles at the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and as a Graduate Adjunct Professor/Dissertation Chair at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, where they taught courses in healthcare strategic planning and marketing, leadership, and population health management. Lilia's expertise in healthcare simulation, program management, and education make their a valuable asset in their field.

Lilia Chavarria, Ed.D, RT (R)(CT)(MR), CHSE holds a Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences from Adventist University of Health Sciences. Lilia also has a Master's degree in Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University and a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership and Health Care Administration from Grand Canyon University. Lilia has obtained various certifications throughout their career, including the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), the Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and the ARRT (R) (CT) (MR) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Lilia has also completed additional courses and certifications in areas such as communication, leadership, strategic thinking, and quality.
