Michael Flake is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in stormwater and water resources management. Currently serving as Vice President at Brown and Caldwell since August 2006, Michael leads projects in the California-Desert Region, focusing on water quality and environmental issues for transportation and municipal clients. Prior to this role, Michael was the Office Chief for Stormwater Policy, Planning, and Permitting at Caltrans from August 1992 to August 2006, where responsibilities included permit negotiations and the development of stormwater management plans. Michael began a notable career in the US Army as a Recon Scout from January 1985 to January 1995. Michael holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a certificate in Environmental Management from UC Berkeley Extension.
