Asha Rao Otd

Asha Rao OTD, OTR/L, currently serves as the Executive Director of The Chicago Kasam Inc. since April 2024. Asha has been a Culture Team Co-Editor for Brown Girl Magazine, Inc. since September 2020, overseeing a team of 18-20 freelance writers on topics related to culture, identity, and stigma reduction. Additionally, Asha has contributed as a writer for Adaptations Unlimited Pediatric Therapies and worked as an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist. Asha's academic background includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago. Asha has also held roles such as Project Assistant and Youth Advisory Board Member at Young Invincibles, and has various other experience in therapeutic and administrative positions supporting individuals with disabilities. Asha holds a Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois Chicago, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy/Therapist and Rehabilitation Sciences, respectively.
