Jeffrey Okewunmi

Jeffrey Okewunmi, MD, currently serves as an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Brown University since June 2023. Prior to this, Jeffrey was involved in various educational roles at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, including tutoring first-year medical students and co-founding Torch Tutors to support incoming students. Jeffrey has extensive teaching experience, having worked as a Teaching Assistant for courses in anatomy and biology, and served as a leader in the Black Pre-Medical Society, significantly increasing membership and access to resources for Black students. Additionally, Jeffrey has participated in research programs at prestigious institutions, contributing to studies on type I diabetes and Kawasaki Disease. Jeffrey completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Physiology and Biotechnology at Brown University, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
