Rebecca Christie

Rebecca Christie is a Senior Economist at the European Central Bank since July 2024, focusing on Capital Markets Union and various EU policy areas. As a Senior Fellow and Research Fellow at Bruegel since March 2019, Rebecca is a public policy expert, engaged in research, podcasting, and event discussions. In addition, Rebecca serves as a Brussels columnist for Internationale Politik Quarterly and previously held the same role at Reuters Breakingviews until June 2024. From January 2017, Rebecca has contributed as a writer, journalist, and policy expert for the Independent, producing articles, essays, and public policy reports. Rebecca also led the authorship of a significant book for the European Stability Mechanism. Prior roles include reporting for Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. Academic credentials include a Master's in Public Affairs from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree from Duke University.
