Hakim is a Senior Partner and Head of Brunswick’s Paris Office, where he advises clients on a range of business-critical issues.
Hakim offers a deep understanding of financial, political and social issues to Brunswick. He was previously a partner at Roland Berger, where he was responsible for public sector-focused work and the firm’s business in Africa. Prior to this, he spent five years in the Emerging Markets team at Rothschild & Cie where he advised on several high-profile deals in the telecommunications, financial services and pharmaceuticals sectors.
Hakim spent four years working in French government, initially as an advisor to Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin and later as an advisor to Finance Minister Thierry Breton. Since 2016, he has been Managing Director of Volentia, a strategic consulting and investment company he founded. A Senior Fellow at the Montaigne Institute, Hakim is a highly respected voice particularly on inclusion and diversity related matters.
Hakim graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Fontenay-Saint-Cloud with an « agregation » in geography and a master in geopolitics. In 2004, Hakim founded the “club XXIème siècle”, an organization that brings together 350 French decision makers across politics, finance, business, law and medicine. In 2008, he founded Young Mediterranean Leaders, a network of young professionals from the northern and southern Mediterranean region. He is also an essayiste and has written five books dealing with geopolitics and social cohesion of the Western world.
