Ed Wilson

Director, Philanthropy at BUILD

Ed Wilson has dedicated their career to helping others reach their potential. Ed began their work in the philanthropy sector with BUILD Boston in 2016. In their role as Director of Philanthropy, they worked to ignite the potential of youth in under-resourced communities. In September 2019, they transitioned to BUILD's national organization where they now serves as Director of Philanthropy.

Prior to their work with BUILD, Wilson served as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Development at Commonwealth Corporation. In this role, they worked to strengthen the skills of Massachusetts youth and adults by investing in innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations.

Wilson began their career in 2007 as a Personnel Assistant at The Heritage Foundation. Ed later moved to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a Research Associate in their fundraising and development department. In 2010, they took on the role of Development Officer at Northeastern University.

Throughout their career, Wilson has demonstrated a commitment to helping others reach their fullest potential. Their experience in philanthropy and workforce development makes him uniquely qualified to lead BUILD's national fundraising efforts.

Ed Wilson completed their MBA at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, with a focus on leadership and organizational change. Prior to that, they completed their BA in economics and business management at Albion College. Ed also attended Milford High School.

Ed Wilson reports to Ayele Shakur, CEO. They work with Chymeka Olfonse - Regional Executive Director, NYC, Karleton Thomas - Regional Executive Director, DC, and Tony Shavers III - Assistant Director, Donor Engagement.
