Pete Harrison is an accomplished leader in climate policy and environmental advocacy, currently serving as Executive Vice President, Regions at the Environmental Defense Fund since April 2022. In this role, Pete coordinates teams across China, India, Europe, and the United States, focusing on culturally sensitive global strategies. Additionally, Pete holds the position of Vice Chair at the Buildings Performance Institute Europe, where efforts are concentrated on decarbonizing Europe's built environment. Previous experience includes serving as Executive Director EU Policy at the European Climate Foundation, where Pete contributed to the EU Green Deal and various transformative initiatives in mobility and energy systems. A former journalist, Pete reported on energy and environment issues for Thomson Reuters and IHS Maritime & Trade, highlighting the intersection of business and politics. With a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from Bangor University, Pete’s early career included roles aimed at environmental protection and conservation.
