Job description

We are looking for an Editor with a strong network, creative skills and a commercial drive to build and represent Lifestyle Asia Malaysia as the face and the ambassador of our brand. You will be able to concentrate on building the right perception, engaging campaigns and content to establish Lifestyle Asia as the millennial brand of first choice in Malaysia among readers/users and advertisement clients. You will be also in charge of creating events (online and on ground) and working with influencers and celebrities to elevate the brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and manage the Editorial team
  • to produce high-quality content and reach established targets/KPIs.
  • Write and publish engaging, highly clickable, immediately shareable stories relating to luxury lifestyle topics. Will also be involved in the sub-editing and proofreading functions.
  • Develop Brand Positioning and create editorial guidelines
  • Develop editorial campaigns that focus on brand building to ensure that the brand is the consistent “talk of the town”
  • Ensure that the right KOLs and celebrities come to our platform.
  • Develop and execute creative commercial content solutions that inspire clients
  • Create strong editorial IPs that can be monetized. The IPs should be 360-degree solutions (on ground, video, social, digital)
  • Represent Lifestyle Asia at high-profile events, including media tastings, boutique openings, press previews, and other networking events.
  • Create and maintain relationships with local influencers and bloggers, expert contributors, PRs and luxury brands.
  • Work with sales team and clients to generate creative ways to produce sponsored content.
  • Identify and reach out to large-scale events in Malaysia for potential media partnerships, where possible.
  • Control of monthly editorial budgets.
  • Development of annual editorial calendar and monthly content lineup that supports the Sales team’s financial objectives and nurtures relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Assignment of features to and all communication with contributors and collaborators.
  • To initiate new and oversee existing events in close collaboration with the Marketing department.
  • To monitor the maintenance and ongoing growth of Lifestyle Asia database/s (stakeholders, key/VIP contacts, etc).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in writing and/or editing in Bahasa Melayu in media/publishing, preferably online.
  • University degree holder, preferably in journalism, writing, communications or related field.
  • Natural-born leader who knows how to inspire, motivate and lead a team.
  • Ability to write quickly and accurately on deadline without sacrificing quality
  • Solid understanding of trending topics and news in addition to the local luxury lifestyle market/audience.
  • Passionate about luxury lifestyle, including fashion, beauty, travel, art, events, property and more.
  • Entrepreneurial, confident, outgoing and social personality.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills. Attention to detail/stickler for accuracy and grammar.
  • Adaptability with the fast pace of online publishing.
  • Savvy on a variety of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
