Alex Holtschneider

Alex Holtschneider is a data scientist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis since November 2022, specializing in the development of annual GDP estimates by state for various industries, including Rail and Construction, while also creating analytical tools using Python, SQL, VBA, and R. Prior to this role, Alex worked as a regulatory economist for the Maryland Public Service Commission, conducting economic analyses and preparing testimony. Educationally, Alex holds a Master's degree in Economics from Virginia Tech and two Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Experience also includes research assistant positions at multiple institutions, focusing on behavioral economics, PCB design for implantable devices, temperature monitoring for artwork conservation, and wheelchair maneuvering analysis.
