John Lazar

John Lazar has a diverse work experience in the legal and finance sector. John began their career as an Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in 2004 and worked there until 2011. Following that, they joined Wollmuth Maher & Deutsch LLP as an Associate from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, they transitioned to Burford Capital, where they held various senior leadership positions, including Vice President from 2015 to 2017, Director from 2017 to 2020, and most recently, Managing Director since 2020. In their current role, John Lazar is responsible for overseeing the growth of Burford's business in the UK and Europe, as well as managing the private funds platform and secondary market business.

John Lazar attended Duke University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical and Ancient Studies. Afterward, they went on to the University of Michigan Law School from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained their Juris Doctor degree with honors (cum laude).
