Matthew Toma

Matthew Toma is a seasoned professional in asset recovery and investigative strategy, currently serving as Senior Vice President at Burford Capital since June 2016. In this role, Matthew assesses and underwrites collection risk for new asset recovery matters while overseeing a complex portfolio of multi-jurisdictional assignments. Prior to Burford Capital, Matthew held key positions including Principal at Norden Intelligence, Senior Managing Investigator at Mintz Group, and Senior Consultant at FTI Consulting. Matthew's career began as a Senior Associate at Diligence Inc. and included an Event Support Manager role at Salesforce, as well as an internship at Control Risks. Academically, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Pomona College and a Master of Arts in International Conflict Studies from King’s College London.
