Jacob Okoth

Jacob Okoth has over 20 years of work experience in various senior leadership roles within the telecommunications and consumer goods industries. Jacob most recently served as the Chief Field Operations Officer at BURN, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they were the Chief Executive Officer at MoKo Home + Living from May 2022 to October 2022.

From 2016 to 2022, Jacob held multiple roles at d.light, a global social enterprise providing solar energy solutions. Jacob served as the Chief Operating Officer from April 2020 to April 2022 and as the Managing Director for Africa from August 2016 to April 2020.

Before joining d.light, Jacob worked at Smile Communications Uganda Limited as the Head of Sales and Distribution from February 2014 to June 2016. Prior to that, they were the General Manager - Regional Sales (East & Central Africa) at Chemicotex Industries Limited, a leading FMCG company, from September 2012 to January 2014.

Jacob's earlier experiences include serving as the Chief Mass Market and Customer Care Officer at Telkom Kenya - Orange from May 2011 to August 2012, and as the Sales and Distribution Director at Zain Group (now Airtel) from November 2007 to November 2010.

Jacob began their career at Celtel Uganda Limited, where they worked as a Senior Sales Manager from December 2002 to September 2005. Prior to that, they served as the Group Segment Manager - Payphones at Celtel International B.V. from October 2005 to October 2007, focusing on payphone business development across Africa.

Throughout their career, Jacob has demonstrated strong leadership skills in sales, distribution, operations, and customer care, with a focus on driving business growth and achieving strategic goals.

Jacob Okoth attended Egerton University from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bsc degree in Ag. Economics. In 2007, they attended Terrapin Training and completed a Certificate in Cellular Networks. Jacob then enrolled in the London Business School in 2008 for Executive Education in Advanced Management and Leadership. However, the end year for their education at the London Business School is not provided.
