Ron Burr

CTO at BurnAlong

Ron Burr has worked in a variety of roles in the technology and software development fields since 1982. Ron began their career at Allied Signal Aerospace (Honeywell) as a Program Manager and Engineer, working on aircraft thermal controls systems research and development. Ron then moved to Tektronix Inc. in 1991, where they served as Director of R&D and Senior Technical Fellow, innovating and prototyping advanced micro-fluidic design/control concepts and design prototypes. In 1999, they became Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTO/COO) at MacroSonix Inc., establishing a custom manufacturing operation. In 2004, they joined Becton Dickinson Inc. as Platform/Program Manager, managing programs and staff of research and development, operations, support, clinical, quality and regulatory compliance personnel. In 2008, they became Chief Technology Officer at CSA Medical Inc., building and leading a cross-functional team. In 2014, they joined Canton Group LLC as CTO/COO, managing portfolio, development, support, quality, risk and requirements management systems. In 2019, they moved to International Software Systems, Inc. as CTO and in 2020, they joined BurnAlong as CTO.

Ron Burr has an extensive education history. Ron earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1982. Ron then went on to earn an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1985. Ron continued their education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning an MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1988 and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1991. In addition to their formal education, Ron Burr has obtained various certifications, including Machine Learning and AI Foundations: Recommendations, Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, The Data Science of Retail, Sales, and Commerce, Node.js: Real-Time Web with Socket.IO, ISO 9001:2015, 3D Design (Solidworks), Agile PSM, Design for Six Sigma, GDPR Compliance Essentials, ISO 27001 Security, Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Engineering.
