Peter Piraino has a strong background in the field of behavioral health and addiction recovery. Peter began their career as a Primary Care Counselor at the Long Island Center for Recovery in 2009. From there, they worked as a School Social Worker in the Riverhead Central School District and as a MSW at the Center Moriches School District in 2010. In 2011, they served as a Health Care Integrator at Little Flower Children and Family Services and as a Clinical Social Worker, Adolescent Specialist at Kardaras & Associates. Peter also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University from 2011 to 2014. In 2012, they took on the role of Program Director at The Dunes East Hampton. In 2014, they served as the Clinical Director at Origins Behavioral HealthCare before transitioning to the role of Executive Director in 2015. Peter then moved on to become the Executive Director at The Last Resort Recovery Center in 2016. Most recently, in 2018, they joined Burning Tree Programs as the Chief Operating Officer, and eventually became the Chief Executive Officer in July 2021. Peter Piraino obtained a Masters Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University in 2010-2011. Prior to that, they earned a BSW in Social Work from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Peter has a certification in LCDC from TEXAS DSHS, but further details about its completion are not provided.
