Maria Stahley

Maria Stahley is the Railroad & Transit Project Manager at Burns Engineering, Inc. Maria has over seven years of experience in the engineering field, with a focus on communications and signals.

Maria started their career as a Maintenance of Way Communications & Signals Intern at Metro-North Railroad in 2012. In this role, they assisted in the design and implementation of various communication and signal infrastructure projects. After a year in this role, they were promoted to Engineer - Communications & Signals Capital Department.

As an engineer, Maria was responsible for managing the Customer Services Initiative (CSI) program. CSI was a multi-part, multi-phase program that included upgrades to head-end systems and electronics that provide service information to customers in Grand Central Terminal and at all outlying stations, as well as improvements to security systems. Maria was also involved in the relocation of phone branch X/Node rooms and the design and implementation of a hand-held device that displayed cab code rates.

In 2020, Maria left Metro-North Railroad to take on their current role as Railroad & Transit Project Manager at Burns Engineering, Inc. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of railroad and transit projects, from initial planning to completion. Maria is a highly skilled engineer with a proven track record of successful project management.

Maria Stahley holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College. Maria is certified in ICND1 V2.0 - Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices, Part 1 and Data Center Infrastructure Management from Global Knowledge Training.
