Catalina Betancur

International Sales Representative at burton + BURTON

Catalina Betancur has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 2006, they worked as a Consultant for the Organization of American States (OAS), where they served as a liaison between the OAS Selection Committee for Scholarships and the candidates. Catalina also drafted and edited reports and managed documents for the committee. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Bilingual Clerk at the Embassy of Jamaica to the United States, handling communications and translations between the OAS and the Government of Jamaica.

In 2019, Catalina became a Family Ambassador for Bright From The Start: Georgia Dept of Early Care and Learning, where they engaged families from vulnerable populations and provided them with information and strategies to support their children's development. Catalina also participated in community events to share information about free state programs for young children.

Since 2018, Catalina has been involved with The FamilieSCN2A Foundation, where they have held various roles. As the Director At Large and Board Member, they participated in meetings to develop strategies and budgets for the foundation. Catalina also sought financial support and coordinated awareness materials distribution. Additionally, Catalina served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Chair and the Community Support Committee Chair, providing support, raising awareness, and creating opportunities for families affected by SCN2A disorders.

Most recently, in 2021, Catalina joined burton + BURTON as an International Sales Representative. In this role, they offer assistance to clients outside of the continental United States and showcases the extensive inventory of balloons, floral supplies, coordinating gifts, and home decor offered by the company.

Catalina Betancur has a diverse education history. Catalina obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Universidad EAFIT, graduating in 2007. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Transportation Policy Operations and Logistics at George Mason University from 2009 to 2011. In addition, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Maritime, Ports and Logistics Management from Old Dominion University during the same period. Catalina also earned a Certificate in Maritime, Ports and Logistics Management from Old Dominion University in 2010 and 2011. Lastly, they completed a Master of Arts in Transportation Policy, Operations and Logistics, with a focus on Public Policy Analysis, at George Mason University.
