The Role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join the design team here at BuzzFeed Inc. in our New York City office. As part of the team you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects — from launching new experiences for our consumer facing products to publishing tools and everything in between across our brands (BuzzFeed, Tasty, and HuffPost). This is a full-time hybrid position in our New York City office, while also open to remote candidates.

The Product Design team at BuzzFeed is made up of multidisciplinary designers, who are individually responsible for all aspects of design: user research, UX design, visual design, prototyping and front-end implementation. Additionally, our designers are key collaborators when it comes to cross-disciplinary activities such as product discovery and A/B experiment definition, design and analysis.

You Will

• Execute all aspects of design in a cross-functional team, including: user research, UX design, visual design, and prototyping
• Foster a collaborative, cross-disciplinary design process in all areas you participate 
• Contributing to strategic decisions about your team’s roadmap in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leads
• Solicit direct and impactful feedback from your manager, stakeholders, other designers, clients, and cross-discipline team; provide direct and impactful feedback to other designers on the team
• Partner with teams outside of design, synch as Product and Data Science to help define what qualitative and quantitative data will be used to measure success, and make changes based on those insights

You Have

• Around 3-4 years of experience designing products and features for web and apps 
• Experience balancing a thoughtful design process with tight deadlines
• Experience collaborating and partnering with people across Product, Engineering and Data disciplines
• Enjoy working across all aspects of design, and owning a project from start to finish
• In addition to UX skills, you have strong visual skills and understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
