Renaat Berckmoes

Renaat Berckmoes has extensive work experience in the finance and investment industry, with a focus on venture capital and private equity. From 2013 to the present, they have been a Partner at Fortino Capital, a firm specializing in growth investments. In the same year, they also became a Non Executive Director at SFPI-FPIM, a government investment company.

In 2021, Renaat took on additional roles as a Non Executive Director at Birdhouse, a start-up accelerator, and at BVA | Belgian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, a professional association for the industry.

Prior to these positions, Renaat was an Investor at The Brick Gym from 2015 to 2020. Renaat also served as an Independent Director at Biocartis from 2015 to 2018.

From 2001 to 2013, Renaat held various roles at Telenet, including Chief Financial Officer, Group Treasurer and Director Investor Relations, and Group Treasurer. Renaat was responsible for financial management and investor relations at the telecommunications company.

Before Telenet, Renaat worked as the European Treasurer at Solutia from 1998 to 2001. Renaat began their career as a Trade Finance Consultant at KBC in 1995.

Renaat Berckmoes completed their education at various institutions over the years. Renaat attended Sint-Lodewijkscollege Lokeren from 1979 to 1985, where they pursued a degree in Grammar School. Renaat then enrolled at KU Leuven from 1986 to 1988, earning a Master's degree in Political Science. Following this, Renaat attended the University of Antwerp from 1988 to 1990 and obtained another Master's degree in Business Economics. More recently, in 2019, they attended Harvard Business School for a short period, focusing on VC and Private Equity.
