Paul Paredes

Paul Paredes has a strong background in the oil and gas industry with extensive experience in drilling engineering. Paul started their career in 2001 as a Drilling Services Engineer at Schlumberger and later moved on to work as a Well Engineer at Baker Hughes in 2006. At Schlumberger, Paul worked as a Well Engineer on a variety of projects and was responsible for designing well programs and optimizing drilling procedures. In 2012, they joined Shell as a Deep Water Well Engineer and later became the SOV Well Engineer Team Lead and Rig Superintendent. In this role, they managed the operations of deepwater rigs, conducted rig inspections, and oversaw crew preparation. Paul joined BW Energy in 2021 as the Lead Drilling Engineer, where they lead drilling projects for offshore assets and is involved in the development, review, and approval of drilling and completion programs.

Paul Paredes has a strong educational background in both management and engineering. Paul completed an MBA in Advanced Project Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2004-2005, and also obtained an MBA in Finances from Ibmec during the same period. Prior to their MBA studies, they earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas - ESPE in 1995-2001. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have also obtained certifications in Advanced Well Control Subsea and Shell Well Engineering.
