Jamie Kingston, SHRM-CP, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Most recently, Jamie served as the Head of People at Beam, formerly Edquity, starting in May 2020. Prior to that, Jamie was the People Lead at NationSwell, where they were responsible for managing the people operations and HR functions of a social-impact start-up from January 2019 to April 2020.
Before their role at NationSwell, Jamie held the position of Associate Director of Human Resources & Operations at Womankind, Rising Above Violence, a large not-for-profit organization working with survivors of gender-based violence. During their tenure from December 2016 to December 2018, Jamie managed various HR functions, including policy creation, recruitment, employee relations, and benefits, while also overseeing the Operations team.
From June 2012 to November 2016, Jamie served as the Manager of Culture and Operations at Harmony Institute, where they contributed to shaping the organization's culture and managing day-to-day operations. Prior to this, Jamie held a programming coordinator role at Two By Twelve from November 2011 to October 2016.
Jamie has also gained experience through various internships and volunteer roles. This includes serving as an Onboard Education Volunteer at Hudson River Sloop Clearwater in October 2013, a Development and Communications Assistant at The Foundation For Gender-Specific Medicine from February 2012 to May 2012, a Marketing Intern/Assistant at Culture Project from January 2012 to May 2012, a College Action Network Intern at REACT to FILM from September 2011 to February 2012, and an Intern at Dutchess County Community Action Partnership from June 2011 to August 2011.
Throughout their career, Jamie has consistently demonstrated their ability to implement and evaluate policies, streamline processes, train managers on HR best practices, and oversee various HR functions.
Jamie Kingston, SHRM-CP, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Media, Culture, and Communications from New York University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In 2011, they also had the opportunity to study at NYU Accra, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree or field of study from this experience.
In addition to their bachelor's degree, Jamie has earned additional certifications. In December 2016, they obtained the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) certification from SHRM. Then, in September 2017, they obtained the Mental Health First Aid USA certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
