Gavin Borthwick

Gavin Borthwick has a diverse range of work experience in the design industry. Gavin began their career as a student at D&AD from 2009 to 2012. Gavin then joined Brand42 as a Designer, where they worked on various projects for clients such as BBC Worldwide and CNN International. During their time at Brand42, they gained experience in digital design as well as print, branding, and packaging. In 2016, they moved to Foolproof, where they initially worked as a Designer, putting customer learnings into practice and creating prototypes. Gavin later advanced to the role of Senior Designer, gaining a thorough understanding of customer needs. In 2018, they joined Beyond as a Senior Designer and eventually took on the roles of Design Lead and Associate Experience Design Director. Their responsibilities at Beyond included overseeing design projects and leading a team. Currently, Gavin serves as an Advisory Board Member at Lyfeguard.

Gavin Borthwick completed their education with a strong focus on design. Gavin attended Jordanhill Secondary School from 2001 to 2008 for their secondary education. Later, they enrolled at the University of Dundee where they pursued a Bachelor of Design degree in Digital Interaction Design from 2008 to 2010. Following this, Gavin continued their education at the same university and obtained a BDes Honours (First Class) degree in Graphic Design during the period of 2009 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, Gavin completed the Section4 Product Strategist program in January 2021 offered by Section4.
