Yuanyuan Zhao

Yuanyuan Zhao has a strong background in data science and research. Yuanyuan started their career as a Researcher at the Center for Innovation (Leiden University) in 2012 and later became a PhD Researcher at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS). During their time at LIACS, they focused on modeling the dynamics of the innovation process using a data-driven agent-based approach.

In 2015, Yuanyuan joined VWE voertuiginformatie en -documentatie as a Data Scientist. In this role, they provided data insights and solutions for internal and external customers using machine learning algorithms. Yuanyuan also converted business problems into data science projects, generated reports, and presented findings to business people.

After their time at VWE, Yuanyuan joined MSD as a Data Scientist and later became a Senior Data Scientist. At MSD, they were involved in various projects including sales forecasting, online A/B testing, and scaling up data science projects across products. Yuanyuan also conducted business root cause analysis and codified domain knowledge into causal graphs.

Most recently, Yuanyuan worked at Healthplus.ai as a Lead Data Scientist, where they played a key role in leading data science initiatives. Currently, they are working as a Data Science Lead at Bynder.

Yuanyuan Zhao completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Dynamics of technology innovation, data-driven approach, and agent-based simulation from Leiden University from 2008 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Management Science and Engineering from Shandong University from 2005 to 2008. They also completed a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Ecommerce from Shandong University from 2002 to 2005 and another Bachelor's Degree in Control Science and Engineering from Shandong University from 2001 to 2002.
