Equity Research Intern

Paradigm Capital Management, Inc is currently seeking an Equity Research Intern to join our team in Albany, New York during the Summer of 2024.

Paradigm Capital Management is a women-led SEC-registered investment adviser specializing in small- and smid-cap investing. With approximately $2B under management, Paradigm employs a disciplined, bottom-up approach with an emphasis on fundamental analysis and extensive management contact. Our strategies are available through separately managed accounts, mutual funds, and onshore and offshore long/short funds—all of which draw upon the same fundamental research and investment process that have been the key drivers behind our significant, long-term outperformance. Our offices are located in Albany, NY and New York, NY.

About the role:

Paradigm is currently seeking an Equity Research Intern to join the company’s team in the Albany, NY office during the Summer of 2024. The internship involves extensive analysis and modeling of financial statements and will work directly with the research team throughout the equity research process. Candidates should have a working knowledge of financial statements and a background in finance or a related field. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze new information in a fast-paced environment are a must.

What you will do:

• Detailed analysis and modeling of financial statements
• Assist research analysts and portfolio managers to prepare for company research calls
• Monitor coverage headlines, press releases, SEC filings, and other updates
• Become familiar with investment universe and opportunity to pitch new research ideas

Preferred qualifications:

• Pursuing undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or related field
• Demonstrable interest in small-cap investing
• Previous internship experience in investment management
