Lily H. began their career in 2018 as a Laboratory Assistant at the W.E. Bentley Lab, where they delegated a high school iGEM team and developed skills in Gibson assembly, RE digest, gel electrophoresis/extraction/purification, fluorescence microscopy, luminometer assay, and ImageJ. In 2019, they worked as a Research Intern at the National Science Foundation (NSF), where they characterized the role of select transcription factors in a biosynthesis pathway and developed skills in designing primers, Gateway cloning, bacterial transformation, colony PCR, Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transformation, transgenic RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, and qPCR. In 2020, they joined C16 Biosciences as a Research Associate II and Research Associate I, where they observed the effects of manipulating metabolic or gene targets in a yeast host to improve and achieve desirable lipid properties. Finally, in 2022, they became a Project Manager at The Inturnship, where they managed a branding project for a startup including website, packaging, brand book, illustrations and photography over 16 weeks. Her main responsibilities included timeline development and course correction, running weekly status reports, managing communications with client, and managing a team of 15 members including UX, strategists, and creatives.

Lily H. graduated from the University of Maryland in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Lily began their studies at the University of Maryland in 2016.
